The main objective of the Chair on the Legal and Regulatory Implications of Artificial Intelligence is to investigate how to find the right balance between regulation and innovation. The Chair assesses the relevance and effectiveness of existing tools (such as the GDPR or rules that concern human rights, non-discrimination and competition) and actively participates in the debate regarding the development of new rules at the EU level (as well as the current debates on the adoption of the AI Act), at national level and within other organisations, such as the OECD or the Council of Europe.
The Chair is hosted at INRIA, at Grenoble Alpes University, in a dynamic scientific environment and in a region that offers great quality of life and a fantastic range of outdoor activities.
You will conduct in-depth research into the fields of data protection, data governance and artificial intelligence and be part of a multidisciplinary research team that includes lawyers, economists and computer scientists. You will also be given the opportunity to participate in events and activities that involve the Chair and its partners in France and other countries.
