The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch Data Protection Authority) is organizing a conference on 9 September in The Hague, bringing together researchers from academia to explore critical issues at the intersection of technology, privacy, and regulation.

The conference will feature three focused panel discussions on the following key topics:

  • The Dutchdependence on non-European technology companies
  • Web scraping and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Artificial intelligence and discrimination risks in the insurance sector

We are pleased to share that Professor Theodore Christakis, Director of the Chair, has been invited to speak on the panel titled “Web Scraping and the GDPR.”

This panel is jointly organized by the Institute for Information Law (IViR)Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society (TILT), and iHub.

The session will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Eleni Kosta of TILT, Tilburg University.
