“Working together for success in AI governance” – Global Privacy Assembly Official Side Event
Professor Theodore Christakis will speak in an Official Side Event entitled “Working together for success in AI governance” organized in Jersey on October 30 during the Global Privacy Assembly, the International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners.
The panel will explore the value of collaboration in the field of AI, focusing on use cases, ecosystems, and regulatory instruments. The first part of the panel will delve into social impact use cases of AI and how collaboration has enabled such an impact. The panelists will discuss the various players in the AI ecosystem, their roles, and common goals. Then, the speakers will shift the focus to examine how different players, including regulators, can work together to balance risks and rewards in AI. Furthermore, the regulatory intersections in the current landscape will be examined to extrapolate insights on when and in what way existing regulations apply to Gen AI. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, the panel aims to foster a deeper understanding of the complex AI ecosystem and promote collaborative actions towards a more sustainable and equitable future that brings about competitiveness, job creations and societal progress.
