On 29 September 2026, Karine Bannelier and Theodoros Karathanasis, members of the Chair, will take part in the “Journée IA & Cybersécurité” (“AI & Cybersecurity Day”), an event organized by the MIAI Cluster IA in partnership with Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) and France 2030.

As artificial intelligence transforms cybersecurity — opening new possibilities for detecting intrusions, analyzing threats and automating responses, while simultaneously creating new vulnerabilities and becoming a target in its own right — this day-long event brings together researchers, experts and practitioners to explore the issues at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.

Karine Bannelier and Theodoros Karathanasis (CyberAlps – Université Grenoble Alpes) will speak on “Rethinking Cybersecurity Regulation in an Age of Uncertainty.” Their presentation will offer an overview of the major current challenges in cybersecurity governance, addressing regulatory developments linked to AI, information manipulation, foreign interference, cybercrime, and the growing interactions between artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and defense.

The day will open with a morning conference on cyber-risks and interference, featuring a special guest to be revealed on the day, followed by an afternoon of scientific presentations, including talks on AI for security and security for AI, the robustness of machine-learning-based intrusion detection systems, and safe and secure embedded AI for cyber-physical systems.
